Day 3: The Power in the Word
How is it going so far? We are on day 3. If you have any testimonies please send me a Dm or an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to share your testimony. I know God has already started doing miracles upon miracles.
Power in the Word
Today we are focusing on the power in the word of God.
The Bible in Hebrews 4 verse 12 says “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires”.
When it comes to healing, we should declare the word of God. The word of God has life. There is power in our declarations and when you then declare the word of God that is a double whammy to the enemy.
When God created the earth He spoke it into existence. He said in Genesis 1 : 3 “Let there be light and there was light”.
The Bible says we were made in the image of Christ and so therefore we also have the creative power in our words. We can declare a thing also and it shall be established.
The Bible in Job 22:28 says “You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.
Proverbs 18:21 says “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.”
Jesus cursed a fig tree with his words and the tree withered. See Mark 11:14-13 and Mark 11- 20-21 . When the tree withered, Peter was surprised and spoke to Jesus about it and Jesus replied in verses 22:23 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
Now if our declarations have power, imagine declaring the word of God and how powerful and effective that is. The Bible in Hebrews 4 verse 12 says “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires”.
Why does the word of God have power?
The Bible says in John 1: 1-5 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it.”
Jesus is the word of God.
Jesus also declared the word of God. For example when He was responding to Satans temptations He always replied “For it is written….. He knew the word and used the word to fight temptation. (See Luke 4 :1-14 and Mark 4:1-11)
In the same way when we feel symptoms of sickness or illness or when we are sick we should also declare the word of God.
It is a form of defense. In the court of law, if there is an accusation against you, your Lawyerr will quote the law to define you. In the same you can use the word of God as defense against every accusation over your life and your health.
The word of God is a weapon. The Bible in Ephesians 6 : 10 – 18 says 10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[a] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[b] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[c] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.[d]
The emphasis here is on the Sword of the spirit which is word of God. We are to use it as a weapon to fight and attack anything the enemy brings on us including sickness.
Proverbs 4:20 -22 says “20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”
The word of God is health to our flesh.
I remeber a particular incidence and how the lord showed me the power in our declarations and how the word came to life.
There is someone I know who was concerned about starting her period late. She told me and I dismissed it but because of revelation of certain patterns after awhile I placed my hand on her tummy and declared over her. The very next day she said her period had started. Then I had a dream about her being attacked and then I also saw 3D vision of a black cloud like a huge figure trying to overcome her. I prayed and cried out from the top of my lungs and called on the host of Heaven to fight for her. All of a sudden I saw a flaming eagle descending in a vision while praying . I didnt know what this meant and so I googled this and upon research I stumbled on a prophetic word that explained the flaming eagle and connected it to the Bible verse in Malachi 4 verse 2 that says “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.”
The flaming eagle I saw was the “Sun of Righteousness” that arose with healing in its wing over this person.
Psalm 119: 105 says Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
As we declare the word of God we receive revelation and direction.”
Gods words are His promises towards us and we can declare and claim those promises over our lives.
Finally Jesus said in John 15: 7 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[b] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
