I was speaking with a man of God I greatly respect recently. I was talking about (careful that I was not complaining) how much responsibility I had been given. I was not exactly sure it was something I was cut out to handle, and I sincerely wanted to make sure I was ready for such commitments. He said a number of things to me but one of the things that really stood out for me was that “God must really trust you for Him to give you this much to do for Him.” Honestly I just laughed it off but those words kept ringing in my spirit.
A lot of days, I do not feel like I am a trustworthy candidate in the kingdom of God. Most times, I do not feel like I am standing in the front lines, effecting the Will of God on the earth. All I know day-in-day-out is that I live my life with Christ in view. I live everyday yielded to the Holy Spirit, (or most days) and I pay attention to His instructions.
But you know, maybe it does not take a lot more than that to earn God’s trust!
According to the Word of God, you already have His unending loyalty and unflinching attention. He has more or less, sired you to Himself and put Himself in a position where He will never walk out on you.
This is FABULOUS news!!!
“Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me?”
Hebrews 13:5b-6 MSG
And because of what He has deposited on the insides of you, you have an assurance that surpasses all material things. Because of the unquantifiable potential of the prophetic destiny God has crafted for you on this side of eternity, He will always be about you. He will align situations, people and circumstances to bring you into the fullness of all He has prepared.
But to earn God’s trust, that’s an entirely different matter altogether. To earn His trust such that He begins to partner with you in accomplishing His assignments, missions and objectives in the lives of others and brings you into the ‘inner courts’ to do business with Him to execute His agenda on the earth, you will require a lot more than just causal association to total dependency.
One of my favorite bible characters remains Moses. For all his faults, that man had one thing. He knew how to depend on the Lord. He was constantly turning to God for his counsel and his next line of actions. Whenever he was going through anything at all, he’d speak to God.
“So the LORD said to Moses: “See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.”
Exodus 7:1 NKJV
But why would God do this for him? See what verse 6 tells us of what Moses did with this new empowerment.
“Then Moses and Aaron did so; just as the LORD commanded them, so they did.”
Exodus 7:6 NKJV
Isaiah puts it this way:
“For all those things my hand has made, And all those things exist,” Says the LORD. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at my word.”
Isaiah 66:2 NKJV
The Message Translation puts it like this:
“God’s Message: “Heaven’s my throne, earth is my footstool. What sort of house could you build for me? What holiday spot reserve for me? I made all this! I own all this!” God’s Decree. “But there is something I’m looking for: a person simple and plain, reverently responsive to what I say.”
Isaiah 66:1-2 MSG.
Fellowship is important and so is consistency for in fellowship God breathes on you and you must in turn learn to open your heart to God for Him to work on you and walk in you. This way, you can become an ambassador executing the will of the Heavenly Kingdom here on earth. Earn God’s trust and live to please Him. You’d be amazed the amount of things the Father will commit into your hands.
It is important to note that it is in this place of earning the Lord’s trust that are all your heart desires will be fulfilled. He has not called the house of Israel to seek Him in vain. He has never promised a thing and failed. You just keep in line with the word and commit yourself entirely to learning of Him and executing His agenda here on earth. Increase your dependency quota and let Him handle every other part of your life.
“Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and He will provide for you what you desire the most.”
Psalms 37:4 TPT
- Am I living in a way that will earn God’s trust?
- What can I do to ensure my priorities reflect God?
- Have I cultivated the habit of turning to God as my helper in every situation?
I declare in the name of Jesus that I am totally yielded to God’s plans for me and I am well invested in His processes, involving Him in everything that happens in and around me.
